September 13, 2003 Meeting of the Board of Directors, Polson MT Meeting called to order by President Mike Zuhoski at 11:00 am Roll Call: Present: Mike Zuhoski President, Jerry Shepherd, Vice President, Mike Doto, Sec/Tre, Rod Dresbach Dist. 1, Stuart Fuller, Dist. 2, Leonard Lundby Dist 3, Craig Hansen Dist 5, Jeff Thomas District 7 Absent: Jim Barnes District 4, Gary Colley Dist. 6 Ed Hatten Dist 8. Minutes: read and approved Treasures Report: Accepted as read Prevention Committee: Smoke Detectors were discussed. Money spent and most detectors given away. Leonard talked about 500 10# extinguishers to be given away Discussed bringing back the fire prevention program since the state school dropped it. Motion made by Craig second by Rod to bring the program back and sponsor it. Some money to be given to the project. Convention Committee: Jeff gave a report on the Sidney Convention Alliance Convention was discussed. Tax exempt and the membership Discussed the lobbyist Protocol book discussed, Z is working on it. Just got the boxes from Ross, Will put it on the Web site when finished. Insurance was discussed. Mike D will contact the insurance company’s for some input NVFC was discussed. We need to get involved with this organization . Motion made to sent Rep to Portland Old Business: Discussed the pension and what PERS is doing with the papers that were sent out. Also what transpired at the session over the pension. Discussed the bills that we have to work on from last year and get them fixed to protect the people that are in and going to be on the pension. New Business: Fire Prevention We need to get our name out there. Will put adds in the paper and TV station using The Montana State Volunteer Firefighters Association name Meeting adjourned
