January 18th Meeting of the Board of Directors, Sidney MT Meeting called to order by President Mike Zuhoski at 11:00 am Roll Call of Officers: Present Mike Zuhoski, Phil Meis, Mike Doto, Stewart Fuller, Jim Barnes, Gary Colley, Jeff Thomas, and Ed Hatten Guests: Don Jersga, Kelly Knaff, and Terry Siveatsew all from Sidney fire department Absent: Rodney Dresbach, Leonard Lundby Minutes of previous meeting were discussed and approved Treasures report:
Previous Balance:
$70,852.79 Treasures Report accepted as read. Standing Committees: Legislative Committee: Pension bill was discussed and Mike Z said that bill was pulled because the money was not there. There was a discussion about the bill and the pension. EMS pension bill was bought up and discussed and we will not support this bill Discussed house bill 353 which is the memorial bill that places the state Firefighter Memorial be in Laurel. Discussed the license plates. Chiefs Association did not have the right tax status to file. Motion was made and second that we apply for the license plates. Mike Z made an amendment to the motion that 20% goes to the FF memorial and 80% go back to the association. Motion made and second on the motion and the amendment. Motion passed Phil Mies and Kelly Knaff was appointed to a committee to get this started. Prevention Committee: Jim Barnes stated that $2000.00 worth have been given away since the convention and he has 250 more that has to be given out. They are spoke for. We have $1000.00 left to buy 250 more. Discussed the liability of putting in the smoke detectors. We have given out over 1000 smoke detectors in the last couple of years. Old Business: Mike and Phil will work on the membership protocol book. And have it out for the next convention. Alliance issues: The Alliance has a web site http://www.montanafirealliance.org. Stuart Fuller will fix the volunteer web site. The 2004 Alliance Convention will be in Billings. Dates of the convention will be 9,10,11 and 12 of June, New Business: Sidney Convention A purposed agenda for the convention in Sidney was handed out. Convention dates are June 12, 14. Each day of the agenda and the spouse’s agenda was discussed and changes made for the final draft. Vice President reports: Mike Z asked all Vice Presidents to get out in their districts and promote the association. Discussed the job that John Semple is doing for us.
